The Problem
Since 2017, Summit Design and Engineering Services (Summit) had conducted several different surveys and had requested feedback from employees on a variety of topics including benefits, work/life balance, fleet management, and more. After the surveys were conducted, the data was reviewed and different improvements were made, but those improvements were widely shared across the firm. One consistent need for improvement throughout these various surveys was always the desire for better internal communication. Insert the 'We're Listening Campaign".

The Solution
The Human Resources team and the Marketing team came together and created the We're Listening Campaign. This specific campaign was used to share some of the improvements that had been made through the years based on employee feedback. Internal communication was something that needed to be improved, so this was the first step to improve that. Summit wanted to share the different improvements that have been made to show employees that the firm was truly listening to their feedback and made positive adjustments in reaction to that feedback. Along with increased transparency with internal communication, this campaign was also being used to encourage employee feedback in the future.

Prior to the creation of the materials, Human Resources and Marketing gathered all of the data from the previous surveys and placed the different improvements into broader group categories that could be used with the high-level timeline. Once those different categories were identified, we worked together to list the details in each category based on the year that they occured. After all of the information was combed through and assigned to a year and category, the materials were started.

The materials for this campaign included a booklet, a high-level timeline, and an animation. The high-level timeline was a collaborative effort between myself and the Graphic Designer and it was created in InDesign and Illustrator. This part of the campaign included surface level improvements that have occurred over the years in a chronological order. This was released on the firm's intranet first and was then followed by the booklet and animation. The booklet was created by myself using Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator, and this animation (not shown) was created by the Graphic Designer. I did not create the animation, but I did review, critique, and finalize the file for distribution.
